The CAAPII REDD+ project is located in the state of Pará, in the cities of Paragominas, Ipixuna do Pará and Tomé-Açu, and aims to prevent the deforestation of 33,766 hectares of Amazon Rainforest.

Thus, avoiding the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, responsible for global warming and accelerating climate change.

Our challenge

Before the project was implemented, the Caapii area suffered a deforestation rate of 2,83% annually, which is equivalent to 955 soccer fields being cut down every year. The main factors that led the region to lead the deforestation statistics were soy monoculture, cattle raising, and logging.

Our project

In 2019, we began monitoring fauna and flora, carbon stock measurements, and developing income alternatives for extractivist communities.
