Awa
The leadership of quilombola communities in the conservation and development of their territory.

The Awa Project places quilombola communities at the forefront of territorial management
and environmental conservation, addressing the challenges of deforestation and illegal activities. The initiative strengthens local governance by training community leaders and employs advanced technology, such as the CarbonEye system, to monitor and protect the area. In addition to promoting economic diversification and the inclusion of sustainable value chains—such as nut harvesting and handicrafts, the project encourages responsible land-use practices and environmental restoration, generating a positive impact on both the environment and the local community.
