The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports that 23% of global greenhouse gas emissions are related to land use.

Here’s why natural climate solutions are about much more than just carbon:
• How we use land will be doubly important in the coming decade — not only for reducing carbon emissions but also for offsetting emissions from other sectors.
• Natural Climate Solutions (NCS) are activities that combine carbon reduction with additional benefits, such as biodiversity, land restoration, and support for rural and Indigenous communities.
• The world must integrate systems of conservation, restoration, and sustainable production into a broader value framework — rather than focusing solely on carbon offsets.
