“Companies that emit harmful gases can acquire green bonds as compensation. Trees sequester carbon from the atmosphere.” — Report by Globo Rural.
Companies that release harmful gases into the atmosphere can offset their pollution by acquiring green bonds, thus generating carbon credits. This transaction takes place within what is known as the carbon market. The money involved in these exchanges is directed toward the conservation of public or private forests.
The excess of harmful gases in the atmosphere is one of the causes of global warming. Growing plants remove carbon from the air, thereby reducing the impact caused by industries, agriculture, vehicles, and households.
