“Anyone following the news in Brazil or globally knows that the topic of the moment is climate change. But you don’t even need to read the papers—just pay attention to the recent flood of events: a heat index of 58ºC in Rio de Janeiro, the most intense winter storm in the U.S. in recent years, and the worst drought in 500 years in Europe.

Global warming is not a discussion about the future—it’s about today and what we can do now to mitigate the damage already done, even if the mechanisms aren’t perfect.

Last year was the fifth hottest on record for the planet, according to the European Copernicus climate monitoring service. In every climate conference of 2022, world leaders attempted to reach some kind of agreement to actively reduce GHG emissions.

Investors around the world have already set their expectations and are demanding effective action from companies across all sectors in pursuit of the much-discussed ‘net zero.’

The planet is moving toward an energy transition and behavioral change—that’s a fact. But it’s also a fact that many of these actions don’t deliver immediate results; they are initiatives that take time to mature and to truly create a positive impact on the planet toward a low-carbon economy.”
